It's a vibe! Wireless 2018 Line-Up Announced...

The wait is on! So it’s that time of the year when we’re all obsessed with who will be performing at this years Wireless festival. The Wireless Festival 2018 line up was received earlier this afternoon and we’re shocked to say that we’re blown away by the line up on all 3 days. I’m not sure if it’s just me but the line up seems like it was released at an earlier stage this year which could be due to the impact of the artists included in this year’s line up giving us all time to plan ahead.

If you’ve read our previous blogs you would see how we have spoken on what a year 2017 was for urban music in the UK, and then what a year 2018 is destined to be. The line up this year proves this as it includes a majority of the artists that have achieved greatness over the past year or so.

The annual festival will be held on Friday 6th - Sunday 8th of July 2018 at Finsbury Park, London. Headlining Friday’s show is J Cole which I’m not sure is the best person to headline but maybe his legendary status is playing a part in the honourable role, but rockstar; Post Malone & Goldlink are also performing on Friday whilst Wretch 32, Wiley MBE, Mabel & Kojo Funds will be holding it down for the UK.

Now it get’s better, Stormzy who just recently signed a deal alongside Atlantic Records will be taking centre stage on Saturday's show, where BRIT nominee rival J Hus will also be taking stage that day to show us he ain’t no common artist. Now if we’re talking about who’s known for shutting down a stage in London we know Migos are capable of doing so as well as A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie who recently did so at Electric in Brixton last month. I know some of you guys don’t know who A Boogie is but check out his latest project; The Bigger Artist where you're bound to fall in love with him. When he came London he touched base with the U.K. rapper Fredo where they ended up in the studio together so with Fredo also taking stage on Saturday could they be showing us what they’ve been working on.

Now also doing a Saturday appearance is Mo Stack, Fredo, Hardy Caprio and the controversial newcomer artist Ramz. Some will say that Ramz doesn’t deserve to have a spot on the stage but with a sudden chart topping single it only seems right that Wireless would reach out to him.

Okay now the final day is looking like a definite YES! for anyone who is a music fan across all relevant genres right now. From drill to grime to that real hip-hop we can expect a day full of moments to go down in Wireless history. Where do we start? Well, we all have questions in regards to Sunday’s line up such as; who headliner DJ Khaled is bringing with him after years of never jumping on a plane or who will Giggs bring out seeing that he is a special guest for the day. Now it don’t stop there - a personal favourite of mine; Rick Ross who cancelled his show in London last year is returning to give us that boss vibe where Cardi B who just broke a record set by Beyonce will be showing us what it’s like to finesse London’s most vibrant crowd.

With the full 67 squad finally back together after being apart for over 4 years, the crowd may be due for a smoky performance. Now let’s not forget one of the most talented artists to come out of 2017; Not3s who will certainly be showing us why he loves to perform. Also performing on the day is Rae Sremmurd, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Lisa Mercedes, Jaykae and more who I’m sure will bring a load of shellings.

What would a festival be without great hosts and great brand partnerships. DJ Tim Westwood, DJ Semtex and DJ Manny Norte who are legends in the music game from the UK to the USA will be hosting the festival and there’s no one else that could do it better. Brand sponsors include Pepsi Max, hotels.com, Capital Xtra and many more who I’m sure will be evidently present at the event with something iconic for us to take with us. This years Wireless festival is definitely one to not be missed and if there’s anything I would compare it’s potential to, it would be the Hot 97 Summer Jam in the states. Look out for more information and acts to be announced through the festival’s official website as well as the social media pages @WirelessFest.
