On 12th October 2023, KINDE kicked off the Red Bull Raise the Bar Cypher series in London. 8 up and coming rappers from the drill, grime and rap scenes in London went bar for bar over beats of increasing tempos to a crowd filled with music fans. With a special guest performance from Unknown T, the immersive event made noise in the underground music scene kick starting a wave of new rap events & content from the Red Bull UK culture marketing team. DJ Jeenius controlled the decks all night whilst the infamous MRIAMNEXT amped up the crowd and the performers.
The 8 artists, Ca$per, Nics, Keedz, & Tia Carys made up Heat 1, whilst Wax Bentayga, Paul Stephen, IBK and Confz made up Heat 2. Each went head to head in a boxing ring rapping at alternating tempos as the battle continued. As the tempo and heat turned up, the crowd took part in a live judging session using a NFC chip in a LED wrist band to vote which artist they thought had what it takes to win the number one spot. Out of the first heat, Ca$per and Keedz were selected to go through to the final round. Wax Bentayga and IBK joined them from the second heat. The final round was turned all the way up as the tempo was upped to a lightning fast 160bpm! After a very powerful final round, the crowd crowned Ca$per as the competition’s winner. With a true display of talent from all the artists, DJ and hosts, KINDE was behind a night that was surely one for the culture to remember.
